Love All Lovely

Love all lovely...

I have been thinking about all that is lovely, all that is ethereal...
On our trip to visit family and friends
this week over Thanksgiving,
my longest-known best friend Janet,
her daughter Sara, and I
went Geo Caching out at a water reservoir
in Auburn, California.

Even with only being 1/3 full,
the water and surrounding countryside
were beautiful!
A family was there and their dog chased a ball
into the water
over and over, bounding out
with unbridled enthusiasm.
Here, he is resting between his trips into the lake
to retrieve his
beloved object...

Sometimes life is this big bridge...

Crossing this enormous foot bridge,
took courage and ignoring vertigo!

This was the second bridge of the afternoon,
about a football field in length.
The first was only 25' long or so.
This rushing stream ran underneath the first.

Getting back together with friends
whom I hadn't seen in several years
was wonderful!

We have known each other since high school,
over 30 years now.
And, it always amazes me that
no matter how far away we are,
how long it has been
since we have spoken,
we fall right back in-step,
as though we have never been apart...

Sara with the gecko she found in the first geo cache.

Janet signing the geo cache log.

Finding another item under the end of the big bridge, and adding a little toy moose!

Life is easy, life is good,
we can ignore the evils out in the world,
turn introspective
and
just be.

Live life to the fullest!

:)

Thanks for visiting! Feel free to share.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's wishing you a lovely

Thanksgiving day with your family and friends!

We are happy to be with my inlaws
this Thanksgiving,
my sister-in-law and nephew.
It has been two years since we were all together.

I'll be visiting with one of my brothers,
too,
while we are back home,
and hopefully seeing old friends.

Traffic was crazy driving up towards
Sacramento yesterday,
but we are thankful and very glad to be here!
I know the weather is causing
delays for many people
throughout the country.

I found some cute Christmasy goodies
on the way up
and
I am excited to share those

with you soon.

Enjoy your holiday season!
Keep warm
and I hope that your travels are not long.

Sunday Sentiments...Almost Thanksgiving!

I am excited for Thanksgiving!
We are visiting family this Thanksgiving
whom we haven't seen in a couple
of years.
Our table is set for the day,
and here is
a sneak peek!

It's always a wonderful time getting our table ready
with favorite winter-time plates,
the cute mouse teapot
and a new platter!
(That will be coming soon...)

I've been cleaning the house off and on this week
getting ready for Christmas.
Windows are sparkling,
slipcovers are freshly bleached.
:)

Here's a sneak peak of our dining room chandelier

from two years ago.
It might have a few of the same
ornaments
hanging from it this season!
Or...
maybe not!

See you on Thanksgiving Day!

Sunday Sentiments...Fruit of the Spirit

My Sunday Sentiment

this week is being thankful for the
blessings of fruit trees!

Our dwarf orange is producing another bountiful
year of wonderful fruit even with last winter's
lack of rains and water restrictions
since last January!
The oranges are just ripening
and I was able to pick some early ones
just this week.

And Our Flag Was Still There...

Honoring our Veterans
now and always...

Feeling a bit like
Betsy Ross
this morning as I fix our flag.
Love this flag...

Getting it ready to go back up...
Love to you all,

Sunday Sentiments

What are you thankful for
this fall season?

I am thankful that I have a job I really like.
I am thankful for my family
and our home.

I'm also thankful for some money in the bank.
:)

I am thankful knowing that our Creator
is watching over us
and is our Guide.
I'm thankful for long-overdue honey-do projects
finally getting done around the house
(our most recent: taking out and regrouting
the downstairs shower! Yeah!)

But mostly ~
I am also thankful for you,
my friends and family!

I was thinking of a series of postings
called
Sunday Sentiments
each Sunday here

in November.

November is such a lovely time with leaves

changing to their fall colors,
the morning air turning crisp,
the days are still warm here in

Southern California,
then
the evenings turn cooler, too.

Sunday Sentiments will share
French Ethereal's lovely table settings,
tea times,
and more
lovely fall photos from our area

and...
since it is Sunday,
some lovely Scripture.

Today's verse is:
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8

Our fall and winter china ~ The Friendly Village by Johnson Brothers, England and one of my favorite engraved "B" teaspoons found at flea market!

Blessings to you on this wonderful
Sunday evening!

Feel free to share this post, thank you!

Fall Gardening

Here are some late fall blooms...

Love the bee sipping nectar in the Mary Rose.
The other is the one tiny bloom you can just
see on the Cecile Brunner,

see the trimmed photo below.
:)

part way through the trimming process...

 Happy Monday to you all!

Our school district had a teacher inservice today,
so...
I had an welcome day off from work.
The rain we had over the weekend
has brought in
some lovely, 70 degree temps.

The coastal breezes are coming
straight over from
San Juan Capistrano,
the same place the swallows
return to each year.

Our bougainvillea blooming madly!

Here is the Cecile Brunner climber all neatly trimmer again.
:)

little birdbath out in our central flowerbed with agapanthas surrounding it.

Today was a perfect day to work out in the garden!
My husband and I have been doing
much-needed repairs
around the house, so it was nice
to take a break and head out-of-doors.

(These photos are only slightly "enhanced" to get the bright sunlight out
a bit, nothing else.)
:)

Our monster climber, the Cecile Brunner
seen above on the left,
needed a haircut once again.
No matter that I butchered the thing back to bare canes
late in January.
I really think it likes having most of its canes taken off.
It grows back even better!
We hired a gardener to help us with the
front lawn this past year,
and he and his boys cut the CB
back in June or July for me.
I am grateful for their help!

Just a quick tour today!

Happy Monday to you!   :)

Feel free to "share" this post. Thanks for your support!

Happy All Saints' Day!

1Let brotherly love continue. 2Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing  some have unwittingly entertained angels. ~ Hebrews 13:1-2

Happy All Saints' Day!

What are your
favorite angel quotes?

After posting
my garden lady yesterday,
looking rather spooky...

I thought today that I would
share our resin
angel
which lives out front
in the planter bed
with the roses.

Eden with a second blooming here in the fall!

Please share your favorite

angel quotes
with all of us here!

Blessings to you and
to your family,
