Shopping at... HGTV's Magnolia Farms!!!

Last Tuesday, as we were just beginning
our trip out of
Texas and heading north towards
South Dakota...
the Surprise Place I visited was...

Magnolia Market ~ The Silos
 located at
601 Webster
Waco, Texas

This area at the rear of Magnolia Market ~ the Silos
is a playland for adults and children to come lounge on pillow chairs out on the big astro turf field, toss around a ball or two.  Several folks were doing just that as well as one girl was playing with a hula hoop!

In the photo above left ~
Everyone can take a turn on the giant swings!!!
Chip and Joanna Gaines have built a playland for families to gather
and "sit a spell" while sharing a meal after shopping inside The Silos
or just to enjoy the outdoors while a family member shops.

White-washed picnic tables
set underneath Joanna Gaines' signature
black & white awnings are just right to eat one's lunch under.
Upscale comfort foods like biscuit sandwiches-with-a-twist or
different kinds of crêpes can be purchased from food trucks which
flank two sides of the surrounding perimeter.
I believe there also was a shaved-ice truck, too!

We were just driving by when I thought to myself
"I wonder how far we are from Magnolia Farms and the Silos?"
So... I googled Magnolia Farms ~ the Silos
and my family and I drove over,
being just a few minutes off the highway.

Hubby and daughter
were willing to indulge my happy wish to visit as part of my "vacation"
so I got to tour around inside and look at all of the metal signs
available for sale.
There are several cookbooks available for sale
as well as wooden kitchen mixing implements,
cool sea foam green kitchen timers, wood slices for trivets,
olive buckets, realistic faux flower stems
in signature magnolias, peonies, and other flowers.
I bought a new mixing spoon as my old one that I purchased
eleven years ago in England is starting to crack.
{Yes, I'm weird that way ~ I go to other places and buy kitchen things
I could buy at home but for some reason seem to buy somewhere else.
Do you do that, too?}

Magnolia Market at the Silos
even shares the history of the silos on a wall plaque and
displays real life~size bales of cotton
as the silos so families touring the Silos will learn
a little history that this was a real cotton mill.

I loved all of the history surrounding the place!
I enjoyed the Magnolia Flour, too ~ a bakery set at the
front~right just as you come up to the property.
Magnolia Flour ~ the Bakery opened about three weeks ago now.
The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I purchased
for my family were chewy and delicious!
{I also bought a blueberry muffin to have for breakfast the following morning!}

The food truck from which I bought my biscuit sandwich.

If you get the chance to visit Magnolia Market ~ the Silos
I highly recommend it!  The people the Gaines' and their management
team have hired mostly local folks {high school and college students from
neighboring Baylor University as well as other colleges}.  I like that they
are "keeping it local" helping support their hometown of Waco, Texas!

Hope you've liked this little journey to visit
Magnolia Market ~  the Silos!
I sooo totally enjoyed visiting there and will share more of the
AT LEAST a hundred photos I took while there at Magnolia Market,
from the bakery, and the garden areas soon.
Blessings to y'all,
Barb :)
