Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving
to you and your family!

Just a quick post this morning
as we head off out of town this Thanksgiving
to visit our daughter
and
the friends she lives with
at their home here in Texas.

I thought I'd share a bit more of the holiday table I set up
with those gleaming gold chargers first then the
black and white pheasant plates followed by
a creamy white ironstone salad
with a small bread plate on top.

When we are home, our Thanksgiving table
always includes
a roasted turkey cooked to perfection
from four to five hours in the oven
until the crackling skin is all a warm golden-brown
on the outside and is
a juicy and fork~tender feast on the inside.

We always have some kind of cornbread stuffing
whether it's homemade or out of a box for convenience and
I like to make my personal favorite ~
candied yams with a brown sugar glaze and
ooey gooey mini marshmallows
melted all over the top
{I use Libby's big 32 oz. cans with an old
Fanny Farmer candied yam recipe!}
Then we have juicy vermillion red
whole or jellied cranberry sauce and our
daughter's famous mashed potatoes.

I am thinking that since our daughter is with her friends,
maybe she will be making her smashed potatoes
for everyone this Thanksgiving!
I sure hope so!
:),

One of two photos taken at our former home ~  I made the fall napkins years ago.
The tea set is Wedgwood pattern.

I don't have a photograph, I think, of that recipe...
but...
I thought I'd just share some of the fall photos I found
when I was out at different places this year
plus a few past fall photos.

This turkey~shaped pasta I saw one day at HomeGoods
and thought they were really cute!
So cute you could just gobble it up!
{ha ha!}
;)

One of the times I was down in Oceanside at the dentist this fall,
I found these festive transferware pieces at
Tuesday Morning.

I think these table runners were also at Tuesday morning
but I'm not 100% positive.

This wonderful scene was found while we were up at the
64th Annual Pomona RV Show

And this was one of the photos I took while still at
"The Lake" ~ Lake Skinner
just after I made all thirty~something
fabric pumpkins.

Here are more of those soft pumpkins in my French~styled Thanksgiving
table setting.
Love all the fabrics that Wal-Mart is carrying this year!
All this fabric {except the sheet used as a tablecloth}
used to create these fabric pumpkins and the table runner
are Waverly and other manufacturers which are
making their fabrics available to consumers.
Great for us!

The plates in the middle are paper plates I found at
Hobby Lobby
in their wedding crafts section.
They were beautiful and though they aren't really china
I felt they were beautiful enough to stand in
for the real McCoy ~ don't you just love
the swirly lace pattern?

And a last photograph of the basket I have been adding
dried flowers to for several years now.
This fall, I added in nice faux stems from
Hobby Lobby
to really heighten the fall feeling of this floral arrangement.
A great way to save and store dried florals!
:)

A last shot of Sarah, Duchess of York pattern by Wedgwood
and one of my silver serving platters used as a charger.
I talked about using silver serving pieces that way
last week in one of my
Thanksgiving posts.

May your family have a
safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
I look forward to hearing about your
Thanksgiving soon!
Blessings to you,
Barb :)
