Favorite Author Jane Austen ~ Sense and Sensibility

Over Easter as I drove down to
visit with our daughter
I stopped by Magnolia Market
and picked up a few gifts
and one in particular
for myself ~
a copy of the novel
Sense and Sensibility...

Maker's Marks on Serving Piece and What They Mean

Makers' marks on the
undersides of teacups,
saucers, plates and other pieces of dishes and
silverware have been used for centuries.
They can tell us roughly when a piece was made
who made it {what manufacturer} and
in the case of silver and pewter
the content purity of
the precious metals used in a
piece's production.

Places to Visit ~ The Rose Garden at Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens

Sweet pale yellow roses growing up against the stone wall near the Lion Fountain ~ perhaps "The Yellow Rose of Texas?"

The Rose Garden
at the
Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
I wrote about recently is definitely
worth a trip to the gardens.
Come take a look!

Just a Quick Post...

A view from the back of the Japanese Garden...sigh!

Just a quick post this morning...
The day is running away
I didn't get enough done on the garden post
I wanted to have up for you today
Even though the photos are edited
it's not quite finished.

I'll have the rest of the
Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens
up for you tomorrow.
Part Deux will share the beautiful
Rose Gardens and the Japanese Gardens
during early spring two weeks ago.
Really lovely!

See you tomorrow!

Sunday Sentiments, Easter 2017 ~ I'll Make You Fishers of Men...

A favorite garden statue I had in my Big House front garden bed.

Easter Sunday ~ He is Risen!
Risen indeed.

Since this is the Lord's special day
I was thinking of how we are to be
fishers of men...

Good Friday Sentiments ~ A Supper of Love

I'm excited as I love this time of year
remembering the good things that were done for us
on a cross a little over 2000 years ago...

Try Bandanas for a Fun Table Styling

A week or two ago I shared
a spring table styling
with most of these elements
I've changed up the napkins here using
these cute hot pink bandanas
I found last summer at
Wal-Mart in Kansas
as we were driving up to our
son and daughter~in~love's wedding.

With the addition of bunny napkin rings from Pier One Imports, this place setting is sure to please!

At $1.00 a piece, these bandanas are a
super simple way to change up one's
usual formal napkins and add
a bit of fun!
I like the addition of bandanas ~ kinda
makes one think of camping and eating s'mores
while resting around a campfire.
Bandanas offer that worry free ease of a napkin.
No worries about sticky fingers or spills here!

Just coordinate your bandana napkins
with your favorite china and seasonal decor
and the possibilities for setting
fun and stylish table for your next event
are limitless.

Places to Visit ~ Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

The Rose Garden ~ a version worthy of Versaille in France.

I kinda complained to my
next door neighbors a couple
of weeks ago
since moving to Texas I hadn't
really been anywhere fun

Interior Decorating Goes Outdoors ~ Our Spring Garden Taking Shape

I'm liking the new arrangement!  Was drying laundry while potting plants that day, as you can see.  :)

Over the past few weeks
our little
Texas Garden
is beginning to take shape.

Our new Little Home receives
the most beautiful light
in the morning and now that it is springtime
“taking breakfast in the breakfast room”
is de rigueur.
